Update Instruction Form Help
Normally, you would create the record or
Report Topics
update form at the Report Definition List,
name the report, and fill in the .def
Reports Menu
information. Then, at the Report Instructions
SEND Reports List
List, highlight the newly created Report
Reports Listing
Name, and press Enter.
Report Definitions
Report Instructions
At the Instructions Memo field, type in
General List Help
information about the report using the
following suggested format:
1. Give a summary of what the report will accomplish.
2. Name the index or indexes and filters.
3. Describe any runtime fields which may need to be filled in as the
report is generated.

build reports, a report definition file and a database definition
file are created. Place these .def filenames in the definition update

Report to Disk or Printer
Reports sent to disk - A filename prompt

highlighted report. Type in a valid DOS

a directory other than the current one,

type in the complete DOS path and filename.

If a printers prompt appears, highlight the
printer choice that matches your printer and
press Enter.
Reports sent to printer - a Printers prompt will appear after you press
F4 on the highlighted report. Highlight the printer choice that matches
your printer (or one that your printer emulates). Then press Enter.

Serial Printers Help
Serial printer operation is accomplished
Report Topics
by one of two methods.

1. A DOS MODE command must be given before
SEND Reports List
you enter this report program.

This may have been done in your autoexec.bat
Report Definitions
It would look similiar to the following:

MODE lpt1: = com1
If so use Parallel Port 1 at the SEND Reports List.
If MODE lpt2: = com1, use Parallel Port 2
NOTE: lpt4, com3, and com4
If MODE lpt3: = com1, use Parallel Port 3
cannot be used.
2. If just one MODE statement was given; ie MODE com1:9600,n,8,1,p
Use Comm Port 1 at the SEND Reports List.
If MODE com2:9600,n,8,1,p was used, use Comm Port 2.
